In Sanskrit bandha means to lock, to hold, or to tighten. In yoga, we use our bandhas to lock in our strength, especially the bandhas in or near our belly. Learning to access your bandhas can be a complicated concept in the yoga practice, but once you learn the proper method, the strength in your yoga practice will be taken to an entirely new level!
In this all levels workshop, Julia will teach you methods to access and properly use your bandhas. Once we find our bandhas, we’ll use this new strength to work through a variety of arm balances, including crow pose and all of its cousins. We'll even dabble with a few inversions to take our core strength to the next level. You will learn to safely enter, exit, and transition from pose to pose, and will certainly learn a new trick or two. Of course, you should also expect to do a little core work!
